Goma Dance Festival, GDF, is an annual event of urban, contemporary and traditional African dances aimed at bringing together different young African dancers with international professional dancers for a week, with the effect of exchanging and enjoying Vocational training through various workshops; On the other hand, to promote and strengthen the capacities of the young Congolese choreographers and dancers and those of the East African community, and also to support their professional development.
What does GDF need?
We work in close collaboration with Eric de Lamotte, the promoter of the Festival Amani, the STREET OFF association of the famous dancer Ali « Lilou » Ramdani, one of the most dancers in the world, who will help us to have two professional dancers French come to give workshops, the Kivu Youth Entertainment center which will take care of multimedia and documentation (photos + videos), the publishing house Eledition, but we need additional support to see the festival come true. The purpose of this fundraising event is to raise the necessary amount to cover: transportation costs, room rentals, rental of sound and lighting equipment, accommodation costs for guests and purchase of some equipment for Practical sessions during the workshops. To help us make this event happen, you can make a donation!
